Showers & Heating
Showers
Showers not only improve your bathroom but save you money as well what with water and fuel bills rising each year the less water you use the better. Showers can save you up to 5 times what you use on a bath so think twice before you have a bath. Many new designs mean that getting a stylish looking shower is no problem at all; new shower enclosures offer a wide selection of styles to suit any bathroom or even wet rooms. You are always better off fitting power showers as these are far more economical as well as quick and easy to use. If you already have electric showers installed in your property then this is a real advantage when you are trying to sell your home.
Shower cubicles do use quite a bit of room in the bathroom so you will need to have a sizeable bathroom to fit them into. If you are fortunate enough to have large bathrooms or wet rooms then you have a good choice of designs to choose from such as quadrant shower enclosures with quadrant shower doors and quadrant shower trays . These look particularly good in very large bathrooms as they add a real regal charm to their surroundings. There are a number of shower doors to choose from and it?s worth noting that if you are short on space having bi-fold shower doors or even sliding shower doors can save you a lot of room compared with pivot shower doors as these take up space when opening and closing them to gain access to your shower. If you have fitted a wet room then having a wet room shower is a real advantage if you find using the bathroom difficult as wet room showers are often called a walk in shower as there is no step in and out of the shower. Always remember to have safety floor fitted in bathrooms as if small children or elderly parents are using the bathroom or wet room they can easily fall over and hurt themselves.
Heating
Heating is vital for UK homes as we are liable to see temperatures drop way in the minus when winter descends so having reliable heating will improve your chances when selling your home. Gas central heating is the most common form of heating in the UK as it is both reliable and economical. Gas central heating uses radiators in each of the rooms which are heated via a boiler. There are a huge selection of different styles and designs of radiators from a number of manufactures like Stelrad radiators. If you have plenty of cash then there are many new aluminium radiators to choose from as well as some stylish designer towel rails. You will need some good boilers and water cylinders so we suggest using Gledhill cylinders and Ariston boilers.
It is not always possible to have gas central heating particularly in remote locations and for this reason oil is often used as a form of heating unfortunately it requires large oil tanks in which to store the oil for burning as and when you need to heat the property. Also many homes use electricity rather than gas and so there are many electric radiators available which are heated using electric central heating boilers.
